Any other ways anyone might have for saving cucumbers, we have our pickle limit but they are growing like crazy !! ??

haha, i know how that can go, one year we planted something like 15 cucumber plants (for two people and one of them doesn't even like cucumbers other than a few pickles here or there). we ended up giving away a lot of cucumber salad (cut up cucumbers (peeled if desired) with onions, mayo and if you want to try various spices), keeps in the fridge for a while and i like mine with some vinegar and sugar to give them some sweet and sour.

I managed to talk the Tasaki recipe out of my favorite gyro place in college ( about 30 years ago ) but that only goes so far... I settled on sweet relish canned and smoothie ice cubes to burn up the non pickle overflow ....

Peach Freezer Salsa. Anyone ever hear of the Flashfood app? Your local grocery store sets aside markdown stuff and posts it to their page, and then customers can buy it through the app and pick it up in the store.

My friend who told me about it tends to look on the map that’s part of the app to find stores near where she happens to be, and then if there’s anything she wants, she pays for it right then and picks it up when it’s convenient for her. I prefer to only look at what’s on offer when I’m already in a store because it’s never anything I think is worth making a trip in for.

They often have fruit or veggie boxes with a large amount of produce for only $5. Like this:

I have been thinking of making my peach salsa because I’m down to only one jar left. So yesterday when I was there they had one full of tomatoes and peaches! (Plus a couple apples and something else which I think must be guavas.) This is what I got!

And here is my salsa, cooling off before it goes into the freezer.

It's the weekly make cheese day. I scooped off some cream & put a pint in the freezer. Next time I'll put it into small cube ice trays...they hold 1.5 tbsp. That's perfect to plop into a cup of hot tea. Yeah, taking advantage of this for winter use, when doe is dried off. Skimming does take a little from quantity of cheese but I have plenty. 😁

Thinking I need to make & can a few quarts of spaghetti sauce. Looks like I'll have a couple days home this coming week. Hmmm. Need to slice some onion and load dehydrator today.
