What did you do in your garden today?

Gusty here today and 80! Slight, slight chance of a storm. 80s and 90s all week. SO unheard of this time a year, this is July weather. I will be watering this week.

if i plant anything this week i'll need to water too. the next chance of rain is forcast for this coming Saturday after a week of temperatures going into the mid-80s.

Not putting in anything new in ground until Friday but I might plants some pots of beans. Youngest is home all week as she tested positive for Covid so we will see how much work I actually get done ;(

Carrots, onions, radishes, lettuce, some peas and spinach are all up! Sounds like an amazing salad to me. Does anyone else eat the pea leaves? Ever steam them? Only eaten fresh here but looking for new recipes this year.

last year was the first time i tried pea leaves and shoots. i think the flavor was better to me than spinach and i love spinach. have not cooked any of them up though. i usually like my greens fresh more than cooked.

My family likes pea shoots and leaves chopped on top of salad.

Last two nights have been 35 and 36 respectively. Temp doesn't truly matter as it's still been too much rain.

Walked out there. Few more seeds sprouted. Need to work it!! Transplants waiting. 😔. Rains were not needed. More coming!

I'm telling you, hilling up rows for sweet potato slips is young man's work. I did learn a lesson though. Till it in the morning, rake it in the late afternoon/early evening. This give time for the soil to dry out some, which makes it lighter and easier to rake.

Hooray the garden is in \o/ all planted I mean. I feel like I got it in late but this spring was a wet one.

Results of a sweaty day, I might be making my own tie-dye tee-shirt. It amazes me how much salt, I can sweat.

More weeding. DS15 planted squash, pumpkin, watermelon. In the wrong spot, and way too close together. He also planted beans in the wrong place - I had him find all those seeds. He'll have to find the squash seeds tomorrow. They'll overrun the garden if left where they are now

It gets better. He put the bean seed in a paper packet and left them in te garden - to get rained on overnight. I just sent him out to replant them correctly before I take him to school.

It's raining right now. Nice easy kind you pray for, only 60 days from now. 🙄👍. More waves of it coming thru later......and tomorrow. Gotta deal with it. Remember those in CA would be so happy for it and just accept the blessings.

Worked on another sweat salt tie-dye. This one turned out kind of heart shaped.
