@akroberts so sorry for your loss. But yes you need to get back on the saddle and keep on riding.
i have been picking up the debris and checking on church families. Some places it was devastating and some are still out of power. Tomorrow, today the church is gathering to go out in the community but as you can see, i will not be awake in time. Besides, i still have lots to do in my yard. I did tried to lift the tomatoes, peppers and corn which is the only thing this year. I still have somebeans and carrots that need to plant but not sure if I should.
I have a very stupid question that I gave an answer to it but it made me think 🤔
If weeds get pulled but not collected, will they revive? Told the hub they did so he will get them out to the compost but now I am second guessing, would it be true?
Thank you for your kind words. As for the weeds I always make sure to throw them in the trash can to go to the dump.

Trying to decide if I want to let the wild lettuce go to seed, or harvest it. The problem is, I have no health problems myself (knock on wood :) ) so anything herbal I make just sits on the shelf until it's discarded for the next season. There's always the "what if" argument, and I dry a lot, but wild lettuce doesn't keep dried the way many other plants do.

Another point is that I don’t have a lot of it. I need to designate a space or put it in the area I'm not mowing.

Dried apricot pie.
I had this early golden apricot pruned and to a height of about 10 foot. I was expecting for it to flower next spring for the first time. Then the 17 year cicadas showed up and pruned it down to less than 6 foot. They left me with a sappy mess and severly damaged tree. It'll take two more growing seasons to grow to where it was this spring that is if it survives over winter. Hopefully you can see the damage to what remains standing on the root stock.

That's so sad to hear. I hope you don't lose your precious apricot tree. I think I would have started spraying those buggers with some serious Raid bug killer.

It's still in the triple digits here so I have been doing as little as possible with the regards to outdoor stuff. Did stand in with the chickens today Darlin got mad at me because I was petting Peppa and she came over and started to try to bully her so I told her that if she didn't stop I would leave. Well I ended up leaving because I want her to understand that when mom talks she's not just blowing smoke 🤣

A strong storm band blew through yesterday with very powerful winds. The kitten/youngin was at the bedroom window looking out yowling at the wife to get her attention. She walked over to see the PVC cage for the herb garden tumbling across the back yard. Lol. No damage done, it's back in place. Our cats obviously think they are guard dogs.

Might be picking squash this weekend

Nothing done on my neck of the woods. Spent all day traveling to see my hand specialist. All good no surgery needed but my thumb is misaligned, lol whatever that means.
I know for sure I need to weed around in the garden and see what to do with the tomatoes. And lift some peppers that are back laying on the ground.

My garden may be trashed. The grass, where not planted & mulched is needing a mow & till!! 😳 It's knee high! Well fertilized ground can bite your rear. It's natural manure, no store bought. Geesh. Won't let animals in there this winter! Unless pigs...they will find & eat grass roots. 🙄

The planted/mulched, doing well. :idunno
