repeated frosts here almost all week. should be a nice day out today and i should mow the grass, especially with rain forecast for almost every day the coming week. am i going to do that? probably not. dirt therapy is calling, not mowing...

Beautiful 69 our west of Michigan. So,got up by 7am, coffee and prayers, and out the door I went. Cleaned the garden to put newbeds in this weekend. Cleaned part of the duck house to convert it into a green house. This one is already standing since the real green house I bought is somewhere in the garage in a box,lol
Then planted the fruit trees on the southeast side of the yard. I am exhausted.

Quick question: if you have raspberries on your garden, how do you gate them so they don't take over?

I dug them all out and moved them far away from the garden.

about 40 feet of regularly mowed lawn between them and a garden should do it. i'm sorta kidding and sort of not...
the birdies move them around via eating/pooing. so if you see new sprouts of them in your garden get them out asap before they get well established.

I finally got some peas in yesterday. I'll be planting some salad greens this evening.

Well, got 16 new raised beds in the garden.
And got me another set of wheels. A 2005 Chevy Trail Blazer.
But in 2 weeks will need to get on 4 mosquitoes. I hate getting on planes. I live to drive everywhere but unfortunately the vehicles do not float,lol My sister called and is very ill, so got tickets. Talk to hub and he will come to care for chickens and dog. Just a week to help but will be in the hottest town of the whole Island,yuck!
