That's wonderful @frustratedearthmother! I really should sell some eggs here. It's legal and allowed, but I'm in that too-many-for-us, but-not-enough-to-sell space. I.e. I'm giving away about 10 eggs a week, or feeding them back to the hens.

Nice, @sumi Love it when that works out!!
We got a shed that needs a little bit of work before turning it into a chicken pen, and I hope to be able to sell a few dozen eggs a week to off set costs. Need to get on that project, too, there just isn't time! :-/

It is! I've been thinking about building something like that, as the other pens I found for sale are (same price), for rabbits and nowhere near as sturdy:

Bummer, Britesea! Duck eggs usually sell for more! Can you advertise on craigslist or somewhere else? Put a flyer up anywhere?

Today, I didn't spend any. That's pretty much the best tip I can pass along to those trying to make money....stop spending it. Use it, instead, to get out of debt so you can save money on interest.

Determine to live a minimalists life and making money isn't the prime focus after that....it's rather exploring ways to hold onto the money you already make.

I've managed to curb 90% of my desire to eat out this week (mostly by working 10+ hour shifts.) So I'm feeling pretty accomplished there.
Trying out sprouting BOSS to see if I can save some dough on feed. Also started feeding more table scraps (got scraps coming from my moms too) to the birds and finally processed my aggressive male duck.
This week we plan on processing the older two hens we have and at least 2-3 of the rabbits we don't plan on keeping.
Aaaand I spent some money to save some time with cleaning the chicken cage each week... spent about $15 on bricks and upcycled some old planks to build a new "perch" for them to sleep on at night since their old roost box had gotten quite water amongst other things worn since we put it in this year.
