Seem as if alot of us sell eggs.

I usually sell anywhere from 6dz or more a week.

I have a friend who lives in an retirement apt complex in town and she can sell as may as I can get to her.

I only charge 2$ a dz its a good deal for the poeple and off sets my feed bill.

So this morning I'am taking 5 dz to town on my way to work.

Hope to add more hens to my flock this spring, hence more eggs!

Are you keeping track of your feed costs.
I cost out the price of each doz of eggs as the price of feed goes up or down.
I buy my feed from feed elevator and the cost per 100 is around 19.50.
Right now my feed cost is about 44 cents per doz,
What is your cost?:)

I sell 24-26 dozen per week at $3/dozen. I doubt it touches our time and labor, but it more than covers the feed and chick cost.

I also sold some eggs this week. I don't sell mine for eating but for hatching. I am glad spring is coming. More people are wanting to hatch out chicks and ducklings.

I haven't kept that close of a track of the price of feed vs what I make.

I pay 13.00 for 50lbs of layercrumbles,no place around here to get it cheaper. I off set that price by feeding scrapes and stuff out of garden.I freeze veggies afor the hens so I have stuff year around and raise squash that also lasts over the winter.
So a 50lb bag last over 2 weeks and I feed 17 hens and 3 roosters.
I get at least a dz eggs a day So now you want me to doa math? lol

I really don't make a ton of $$ but it pays for our eggs.

oK,
I keep track of exacty how many eggs a day so i can avg it out over the week and then by the month.
Your cost is 93 cents a doz for the direct feed cost it would be less if you can add can boost the number of eggs per day.
25 #s per week divided by 7 doz for the week. I suspect you may be getting a few more. If you use the extras for you own use that is fine your cost to sell is still 93 cents.

I don't want to be anal about this, but I didn't keep track of the bills when i had horses and lost my......

I want to pay for the feed and make a few dollars as well.

What is swagbucks? I clicked on the link on your post, and it brought me to a sign in page. Just curious.
It's a free search engine similar to google and bing where you can build up points for gift cards. Sign up! It's easy, and perfectly legitimate. I have been doing it for some time now and am saving for a KitchenAid :D I make about $40 a month on there just searching.

We hauled a load of steel today before the bottom fell out  I found an old scythe blade washed up in the yard, and am cleaning it up to put a handle on it...free tools :woot AND we went and looked at a job to haul scrap and split 60/40...looks promising, lots of aluminum and brass in it which sells higher :D

seriously?! Sheesh! We can sell anything here, and have the best paying scrap yard in the tri state area right here in our little town :D The new job is just 8 miles from the yard, and we get 60% on account of fuel and use of our vehicle to haul it :D They are even helping to gather and load it! I love doing the scrap, so flexible and I am my own boss. ;)
