Since I am due to have a baby five weeks from today, I'm going to start now and attempt to complete the month before I have the baby because I'm sure that our cooking/eating habits will go right out the window for at least a few weeks :)
I'm going to start with the assumption that I have what I...
It's been a while since I've been online, but I wanted to introduce our newest addition :) My 'all natural' birth went to pretty much every intervention I could possibly have had... it was torture.
I posted in November about inducing labour... I tried teas, exercise, sex, anything I could...
So, I'm now officially 40 weeks and 4 days pregnant, and approximately the size of a whale. The doctor will let me go 2 weeks past my due date before they induce me with drugs, but I'm anxious to get it going more naturally.
I've been doing physical activity every day... walking the dogs...
I'm 34 weeks along in my pregnancy, and developed a pupps rash last week.
It's incredibly itchy, to the point of wanting to scratch my skin off. It starts just below my neck and goes right to the tip of my toes. According to the doctor the only way to get rid of it is to deliver the baby...
Right now it's all up in the air, but we've officially put an offer in on a hobby farm closer to family and work so no more 45 minute commute, it would be 4 minutes now :) Waiting to hear back from the sellers whether they accept or not.
Here's the place we're trying to buy...
Okay, so I'm pregnant... about two months now... and was recently reading online that I can't eat anything unpasteurized for the next 8ish months... including soft cheeses... really?
I figured I would ask here, where people regularly eat/drink unpasteurized milk/cheese/etc.... is it really...

I'd like to tap our maple trees this spring, but I'm wondering if it's worth it...
Pros: I LOVE LOVE LOVE maple syrup, and it's really expensive
We own 5 acres of rock maple so could tap my own trees.
It would get me out in the woods in the spring.
Cons: Our maple trees...
In an effort to make my house always 'company ready', I'm looking for the book 'Sidetracked Home Executives'... I just figured I'd check on here to see if anyone had and was willing to sell it, before I start searching Ebay.
Thanks:thumbsup
I'm trying to raise the money for my greenhouse this spring, so I figured I'd offer some portraits here :)
Here's a link to an ebay auction (please just PM me here if you do want one, it saves me the fees... lol) with examples of pet portraits I've done...

I saw a machine to roll old newspapers into firelogs in a magazine I get.... I thought it was a neat idea, and the ad 'claimed' that a newspaper firelog would throw about as much heat as a typical wood log... what I'm wondering is if that's really true, and if the rolling machine actually works...
So I thought I would give this journaling thing a try... although I probably won't be that consistent with it, it will be an interesting thing to have.
Because of our poor credit, we cannot get a mortgage... so our self sufficiency dream started by finding a person willing to rent-to-own their...
I seem to be the first person from this province who posted, hoping there are others :)
