I have one. My electric bill goes up $60 per month when I use the Eden Pure for about 12 hours each day. I don't think they are all that cost effective I did the math and it should cost closer to half of that so I'm not sure what the deal is. :rolleyes:

I don't know. I'm sure your local extension office would say NO. Did you know they now poo poo canned pumpkin? This is really thick and has lots of flour. I kind of thinking canning it might make the texture break down but I am not sure. Freezing does something weird to the texture too so...

I have the Country Living Mill and it's really hard work to grind fine flour. I timed myself today and it took 3 minutes to get ONE cup of flour and that was going at a good pace. Grrrr. Getting your mill the option of electric like you said is a great idea! You are very kind to your birds.

They just seem like their brains and natural instincts were bred out of them, their laying rate didn't seem to be that great compared to my heritage breeds, and they have absolutely no personality. They'll actually squat down for a predator. LOL

I just placed my replacement hens order last week.. but now I am having second thoughts. I wanted chicken breeds that are very hardy with excellent foraging skills, good layers and the ability to go broody if we ever need to breed our own chickies. Spent a lot of time researching this too...
