Bubblingbrooks Journey - Salut!

Ugh! Is there any way you can leave that pile to compost and just ignore it for another year, or do you really need it in your garden this year? That sounds like a lot of back breaking work!

Can't ignore it at all. I need it now.
As I am going through it, I am finding that half if it is perfectly turned.
So I can actually pick and choose the sections that are still hot for setting aside.

Meanwhile, my baby chicks that can still escape the pens, think I just handed them the moon!

My squash this year is going to be amazing! Feeding them steroids!
No such thing as black dirt up here normally!

Sounds like fun. (NOT!) Hope you get get it all worked out w/out having to do too much.

As for the smilies, lots of times if you don't put a space in between them, they don't work.

I would GLADLY come visit you to help.....if it wasn't so far away! LOL
I miss Alaska.... 6 years it was my home...now..UGH, Indiana! LOL
Sounds like you might have gotten a little of both...new and old, so maybe it will still work out?? Hope so, that would be a LOT of work, with your sweet little one there, and the sale. YIKES!!

Well, that's good that it isn't ALL fairly fresh and that you got some good dirt out of it. That will make it worthwhile.

Should we hire a detective or write a novel.

Well, I got all my summer and winter squash transplanted!
Here is a pic of the Sweet Meats in the original chicken pen.

I laid down coop clean out stuff in long rows, then piled old hay on top.
Today, I opened up holes in it, dumped in 5 gallons of dirt and manure, and then added a squash.

The potatoes are in front of this pen,and the goal is to get that whole area fenced in as well.
Then I will have three chicken pens, and two of them can be garden areas in the summer, with the chickens digging around in them in spring and fall.
