My key to canning supplies is off season buying. A group of us get together an order and place it direct to Newell. Our order comes right out of the Ball warehouse. Last time we as a group placed over an $8000 order. Looks like this time it might hit $12000 or more as there are a few more interested. I hope the order goes through this winter as warehouse is still low when we last talked to them

Some things are not that great of saving . About $2 a case on pints and $2.50 a case on quarts saved. Usually about $4 a case on 1/2 gallons an major saving on lids by buying the sleeved unprinted lids. This is compared to local pricing not ball list price.

Lots of reports of even Ball lids buckling this summer. I canned over 400 jars, had no buckles, but maybe 20 failure to seal.

My experience was the rubber was thinner and there were minor quality control issues

Buckling is an issue this year, even for Ball. Farm store had a sign posted saying to not turn the rings so tight to prevent buckling. Seems reasonable, since some people have high percentage buckle and others have none. I suspect it is ring tightness

Why should you not til a garden to plant peas? I always did and have had no problem. Does it do something to the soil if you do?
I have considered doing the cattle panel greenhouse. Thanks for the info.

@FarmerJamie that looks like our walmart.

I like the regular mouth pint jars, better than the wide mouth pints. Wide mouth pints take up more room.
