I have never used the receipe. My friend swears by it.

8 cups flour
1.5 cups dry milk (the powdered stuff)
3/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons baking powder

Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight container. To make a batch of pancakes, stir together 1 cup of the dry mix with 1/2 cup water and cook as usual. Nuts, dried fruits, etc can be added as desired.

Sounds like I need to set in a supply of dry milk powder, I usually use fresh milk for everything, can I just add it with the other dry ingredients in the pancake and pudding mixes? Lynn

Here's a new one I'm enjoying!!

Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressingallrecipes.com

2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons dried oregano
2 teaspoons dried basil
1 teaspoons pepper
1 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoons onion powder

3/4 cup olive oil
1 teaspoons Dijon-style mustard
1 cup red wine vinegar

In a salad dressing cruet, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, oregano, basil, pepper, salt, onion powder, and Dijon-style mustard. Pour in the vinegar, and mix vigorously until well blended. Store tightly covered at room temperature.

I plan to mix up a few small containers with just the herbs. It will save time and hassle each time I want to mix up a batch.

I cheated last night and went to allrecipies.com and found this recipe for vanilla pudding that used regular milk, so here it is, chilled it over night and tasted it this morning, it is wonderful!!!

Homemade Vanilla Pudding

2 cups milk
1/2 cup of white sugar
3 Tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 Tablespoon butter

In medium saucepan over medium heat, heat milk until bubbles form at edges, In a bowl, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Pour into hot milk a little at a time, stirring until dissolved. Continue to cook and stir until mixture thickens enough to cover the back of a metal spoon. Do not boil. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and butter. Pour into serving dishes. Chill before serving.

PERSONAL NOTE: I found that it gets clumpy if you add the dry ingredients as noted, so I went back and read the comments and several people suggested mixing all ingredients except vanilla and butter and bring to a low boil then remove from heat when thick as you want, add vanilla and butter and chill. I think this would work better also!!! Lynn

I'm going to make that Greek dressing! I have all the ingredients, which is rare for me, and it sounds super yummy! Do you happen to know how long it will last at room temp?

Do you mean the dry ingredients or the regular dressing? The regular dressing I would store in the fridge. Dry ingredients would last indefinitely, but I imagine the herbs would lose their power after a while. Enjoy :)
