The wife found this template for inventory tracking. She logged jar each with a "/" and then will use an "\" to make an "X" when used up.

21 pints of ground beef in the canner now, plenty left for round 2. Had bought 20 lbs this morning.

Bought 20 pounds of chicken breasts. Going to can enough chunks to fill out the canner with the remaining ground beef today.

The rest of the chicken will go into white chicken chili canning tomorrow. Got the ingredients to make French onion soup and the beans for ham and bean soup.

Just hit the "10"...😊...set timer! More free corn. Ya can't pass up free...right 🤷. Still have others in freezer to thaw and can. 🤔Can't remember, or don't think, I've ever eaten this much corn. 😲. I like but.... Looking at 35-45 pints. Ok, ok...it keeps couple yrs, so I'll use it. Another canner full ready, just add boiling water to jars, lid and go. I husked, cleaned, cut off from 55 ears this morn. Peppers are glaring at me! They are next. Potatoes are a tomorrow job...steam, skin, can. I have tomatoes, eggplant & zucs from garden to process!!!!!! Right now -- winter time is looking good. Done with canning 🤣🤣

Made and canned applesauce from a bushel of apples. Was gonna dehydrate some but I'm the only one that likes them that way. Butchered a rooster two weeks ago and saved the feet, wing tips, and bones to make stock. Have never done it before but that and scrap veggies are waiting in the freezer for me. Scared the crap out of myself when I opened the freezer the other day and the chicken feet were in my eyeline!

Made apple pie filling for the first time today. It's good but I'm not a fan of the large amount of sugar that went into it. I like making my pies with fresh produce so that's what I'll keep on doing. I never used canned

fruit filling for pies anyways. I was just sick of making and canning applesauce so I thought I would give this a try

The wife and I had an in depth discussion about canning for this year. We found a great deal on a Presto electric canner (should arrive today?).

She wants to make smaller batches of soup to can up. I was concerned the monster canner would be overkill for small batches. So we decided on a device with great reviews.

And of course, the local grocery store has a BOGO sale on fresh mushrooms. This may be the maiden voyage of the canner later this week.
