Cut the heads off the sunflowers to dry out away from opportunistic birds, and ripped up the bodies to feed the drakes. I tried to cut a branch down but I had the wrong choppers, so gave up on that to do another day. No weeding today, I burned both my hands on a hot pan over the weekend, thank goodness for aloe vera, but the skin is still tender so I will rest them a few more days.

I watered around the front. I may have accidentally drowned some tiny parsley babies. Its not been hot today but it will be dry for the week. I hope they find their way back into the soil. Whoops.

We are supposed to get a frost Tuesday night. Glad I didn't set out the tomatoes and eggplant yet.

What I did in the garden today...got excited over more corn sprouts and thought I seen a bean sprouts and left inch deep Bigfoot prints when I went to look. It wasn’t a bean ☹️ It’s sooooo wet here!! 3 inches of rain Sunday. I can’t wait to get some dryer dirt!!!!!

pulled a couple weeds, squished a couple potato beetles, and planted more stuff. some of the potatoes didn't come up so we filled those spots with rows of okra, Swiss chard, collards, and put in a few mounds of yellow squash and zucchini
