I'm not sure how I'm going to prepare it yet… It's kinda big lol And I'm the only here that eats them. I think I may boil some of it with onions and eat it with butter, salt and pepper. I love them that way. The rest I may fry up with something, like a pork chop.

It was somewhat of a lost cause, as I'd said before -- they loved me for it! We had somewhat of a breeze and yes, there is still a sun up there!! More rain tonight, they say. We're down to 25% scattered showers each day next week - so, tapering off.

I saw some potatoes when I weeded around them this afternoon and brought in what I could get without digging, which was 4 small ones. Had those with a huge carrot and some peas for our dinner, along with some fish.

Tonight for dinner we had a ham roast from the last pig we butchered and Red Ripper peas from the garden! YUM, nothing like eating a meal that consists solely of food that you produced yourself. :drool

What is a red ripper pea? I think I may have had this before but it was called Mandy. They were cooked with a few ham hocks and served with side of fried cornbread. Mighty tasty too. It's more of a red bean than a pea is that right?

Loads of peas today and a carrot that's not quite ready, but it grow right alongside another one, so I pulled it. Also got some raspberries and strawberries. Only getting one or two here and there, but I'm happy. They'll produce more as they grow.

WooHoo! Looks delicious! Nice to reap a reward for your hard work!
It's a lovely reward! I need to sit down and shell them and see how much I have. I may freeze some of this batch. I'll be out there picking again in a few days, there are so many still :)

One of my zucchinis has a flower. Can't wait for that and the first tomatoes. They took so long to get going, they surprised me. Tomatoes are so easy usually. My swiss chard is growing very well too. I can start picking them now, if I want to, but I'm going to let them grow a bit more first.
