ohhhhh I love to experiment so into the freezer mom shall go! Wine is already bubbling nicely in my "experiment cabinet" (I feel like a mad scientist sometimes but it keeps it out of view of hubby who would probably have a cow if he knew the stuff I make in there... hahaha) The wine was a LOT...

How do you make your own ACV?

Best way to tell my goat is in heat?

Some of you mention getting a young buck then selling him... so like How young? I seen a few dairy goat boys that are anywhere from 2-8 months old... (still not the breed I want but I can settle I guess... LOL) So if I bought a young boy how old is too young to get the job done?

See that is exactly what I was thinking... Why can't you be SS in town and butcher your own animals? You shouldn't HAVE to hide... We live in the country with very understanding neighbors but I still go out back of the garage out of site to butcher the rabbits... because of stories like this...

ROFL oh yeah we have the bunny "dates" (or one second stands) down pat too! We have had a few boys that need to figureout which end is the right way... but that's typically easy to fix... just swing his butt around and he is like "oh! that's how it's done" typically never have to show them...

    family lukewarm to SS

my kids love to learn about it but they are very young and I can pass on my enthusiasm... They also are too young to be of much help... my hubby doesn't understand why I waste my time... instead of being supportive at times he is totally against it all... thinks it makes us look poor! (he was...

    BarredBuff's Homesteading Shenanigans

yep! Goats are TOTAL dorks... we tried it also a few years back it was awful! we did it because the smaller sized goats are evil fence destroyers! They would jump up ontop of it and squish it down and waddle their booties over the top... after a few weeks of this the fence was non-fixable... I...
