    Planting by the moon phases

This sounds really interesting. I may give it a try. I wonder where they get this information from. Last year I had so much trouble trying to get my pole beans to sprout. I wondered if they were rotting in the ground so I started some in those little plastic cells. I still couldn't get any...

Mysterious lurkers on the SS forum

I sometimes come back to look up certain threads, kind of like using a reference book. I don't usually post because I have had a few bad experiences.

    Revolutionary theory about stopping desertification

Basically they run large herds of cattle on desert land and it brings the land back to life. They show before and after pictures which are amazing.

    Revolutionary theory about stopping desertification

This is fascinating. I wonder if it would work with chickens on a smaller level.

    Dog Breeding

Not that it is anyone's business but I waited a long time to get a show/ breeder quality puppy. Just because I don't show doesn't mean I want an inferior quality puppy. I didn't breed my first poodle because she was not up to par. I would not breed my dog to any dog around the corner just to...

    Dog Breeding

Ya'll are NUTS! I asked a simple question. I didn't ask for a lecture. I don't have to answer to you. My dog is a quality dog from a reputable breeder. I am not looking to make money or start a breeding business. Not everyone wants a shelter dog! I waited 2 years for one of my dogs and...

    Dog Breeding

How do I go about finding stud service for my toy poodle? The breeder I got her from was going to help breed her but since then has downsized and has no unrelated males. Another only offers expensive artificial insemination. I am in Missouri on the east side of the state. Any ideas or suggestions?

guinea keet with a badly splayed leg...

I had something similar happen to a chicken. It seemed ok at first but it never really thrived from that point. It didn't grow as fast as the others and was often frustrated and noisy. I ended up having to put it down.

    Question about Canning Tomato Sauce

The skin blended so well you couldn't see it. It made the sauce a nice rich red and of course more nutritious.

    Question about Canning Tomato Sauce

I tried it and was very pleased with the result. I did put the sauce through a sieve to get the seeds out.
