That is expensive!! So what's your grand total to be able to carry? Mine is $0, or since I choose to get a permit, $10.

Yeah it's crazy stupid expensive but I'll be applying for the license next week as I got my finger prints done today. Once I have my license it's good for 5 years. Most every state reconises Illionis consealed carry so it's really more than just Illionis. But what's funny is illinios doesn't recognize any other states consealed carry

Drawing technique that I was taught during consealed carry class. This is almost exactly the same besides making a fist with your left hand over your heart to deflect or slow down incoming bullets. And also in that position you can use your elbow to elbow someone in the face if being rushed. I need to pratice this technique - old habits die hard!

I was also taught how to shoot around a tree while using the tree as cover and how to use a car and mail box as effective cover. Being the only student and 16 hours of training. I got introduced to some more intermediate techniques. Which was a big bonus dispite 4 hours of laws it was much more than I expected a Illinios consealed carry class would have been... It was definitely worth $150.00 plus $10.00 for range fee. I shot all 250 rounds also.

Now we wait upto 120 days (4 months) for the state to issue my license.

Then I can conseal carry in the following states:
Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, illinios, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming

But I can NOT conseal carry in the following states/territories: But that's ok, I never go to these places anyways.
California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Guam, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, New York City, Oregon, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, Virgin Islands, American Samoa, N. Mariana Islands.

I'm not sure about Ireland though

@CrealCritter, I had to laugh when I read your response!

We had a foreign exchange student once and when we asked him why he chose Wisconsin, he said that it was ranked #1 for the friendliest people in the country. I still find myself waving at other cars on the road, even though I don't know the people in the other cars.

A few years ago, we went to Toronto for a wedding. And we were watching the local Toronto weather channel. It had many area temps. Every single temp was for a Canadian city.... EXCEPT one. Green Bay, Wisconsin was listed on the Toronto weather report! Not Detroit, not Buffalo... Not any number of American cities closer to Toronto... Just Green BayUmmmmm, hey guys, you DO know Green Bay is in Wisconsin (USA) RIGHT?
My Canadian friend calls Wisconsin "Canadian Light"

When I was in Navy boot camp, we were all sitting around talking about home. When I said I was from Wisconsin, no one else knew where that was. I was even asked if it was one of the 50 States.

Apparently, other people aren't sure what to think about Wisconsin either! We just might be Canadian, eh??

I find myself coming back and reading your response. Ah the memories of my youth thanks for posting this you have no idea how it brings a smile to my face.

Then there is some memories I wished I could forget about. You wouldn't happen to know about a place called Hooker Lake Inn would you? it was a rough ass biker bar in the south eastern part of Wisconsin I don't have any idea the country though... We never should have stopped there to begin with, bad memories there!

I agree with you yes people of Wisconsin are very friendly... But like anywhere else, it's all about location, location, location!

No one can carry in Mass or CT. Well, it's exceedingly difficult anyway.

Speaking from an overall prespective...

Obtaining a CCL in IL is a quite the endeavor. Not only monetarily but also in time invested.

My opinion... For anyone seeking a IL CCL, they should be properly funded and be prepared to spend numerous hours in the persuit thereof.

Another $153.00 spent, now it's a 120 day hurry up and wait.

My OSB (Outside Waist Band) Alien Gear Holster finally came in. It's a NICE kydex type holster on thick black leather backing with thick black leather belt loops. It's Made in USA with a comes with a 30 day money back test drive and 100% guarenteed for life. Another $34.88 well spent.

My plan is to try this one for a while and if I like it (which I already do) have this CC OSB as my holster for fall / winter, when coats and sweat shirts are worn. Then order a ISB (Inside Waist Band) for Spring / Summer when tee-shirts are worn.

I guess on another positive note the state of IL charged my card today, so I would assume I passed the CC license requirements and the will issue my license in 3 to 4 months.

Go for it... Just make sure you got time and MONEY. It's an expensive and time consuming endevor.

Couldn't be more different I was chatting with a friend here about it just yesterday actually, how different Ireland is from everywhere else. It's wonderful here.
