Tonight starts our Toys for Tots week, culminating in distribution on Saturday. Sorting and counting tonight.

170 families signed up, so this will be a quick effort this year. We typically have 300-400 families.

Yule feast preparation in progress!

Apple tart made by DS16. As seen on tiktok, but DS16 was put out that he had to blanch the apples to make it work.

Gluten free pinecone brownie cakepops. Not as pretty as tiktok. Next year I'll thin the dipping chocolate. I'll make them smaller too. They're too big for how rich they are! I'll do cakepop size and put them on sticks.

Yule log cake(s) are in progress! I helped kids make the first one. It's rolled up in the fridge now. DS16 is making another one gluten-free. 🤞

Mom gave me one of Great Grandma's bedside oil lamps when I was down at Thanksgiving. I need to clean it up and get a wick. It's kerosene. Mom was surprised I could tell. She said there is a box of other oil lamps in the shed. Still from Great Grandma mostly though Grandma on Dads side. Dad was "Take them!" Have to dig them out though.
