My DD decided to cook tonight. WOW she has been busy cooking and cleaning.

Home canned greenbeans, smashed taters with hamburger steaks cooked on the grill and then covered in gravy. Cornbread and of course my normal glass of milk.

We all ate like pigs.

Edited to add: I don't think there was much Heart Healty about his meal. LOL

Last night we were invited to our neighbors at the last minute, it was really nice as I had no game plan yesterday. Tonight I am making a big pot roast, and hoping the leftovers can stretch over a couple more nights.

Turkey Noodle Casserole, an old Microwave Times recipe I got years ago.

Turkey Noodle Casserole

3 cups egg noodles, medium
1 package frozen peas, 10 oz
1 lb ground turkey
1 Tbs dried minced onions
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 can cream of chicken soup, low fat is fine
1/2 cup milk, low fat is fine
1/2 cup sour cream, low fat is fine
1 tsp chicken bouillon
1/2 tsp poultry seasoning, (Bells)
1/4 tsp celery salt, (optional)
1/4 tsp ground pepper, (optional)
1 can french fried onions, I never use this

1. Cook noodles as directed on package (usually for five minutes). Drain, rinse and set aside.

2. Microwave frozen vegetables on high in the package (remove foil if there) for 3-4 minutes. Set aside.

3. Crumble turkey into 2 quart microwave casserole. Microwave on high, uncovered, 3 minutes, stir, then again for 3 more.

4. Stir in everything into the turkey. Cover with casserole lid.

5. Microwave on high 4 minutes, stir, and again for 4 minutes. If desired, top with onions.

Servings: 8

Potroast was a disaster. I must have accidentally bumped the oven dial and turned it up to 400. It was still edible, but barely. Drat, I hate it when that happens.

My dials are at the front of the stove ( it is a nice feature when you accidentally set something on fire-don't have to reach through the flames to turn the gas off).

I seriously think the previous owners of our house bought everything at the scratch-and-dent sale. The dials are too loose or something and the oven door is all outta whack.
