My computer kept displaying teaser ads about a list of 37 food items that were absolutely necessary for survival in a SHTF situation. DON'T CLICK ON IT, if you get the ad as a result of this message, because it will lock up your browser and make you have to restart your computer. I don't know...
I don't want an e-mail every time somebody replies to something I have commented on. Each time I get an e-mail notice, I go through the process of disabling all e-mail notices for this forum, but it doesn't seem to do any good.
How can I permanently disable all e-mails? This is getting frustrating!
It's been a while since I have done any remodeling work, and I have just realized how outdated my house is. I will be doing a lot of looking and learning. I don't even know what I like anymore, so I will probably be asking a lot of questions. This looks like a great forum with knowledgeable...
I ordered a few chicks to be delivered this week. I thought they would be here today, but they didn't show up. Friday will be day three in transit, so I am really anxious about the condition of the chicks when/if they do come in tomorrow. IF they are still alive, do you think their first water...
When I went to my chiro yesterday for some really sore messed up muscles in my neck/shoulder, we talked about the stress I am experiencing right now, and he recommended a B-12 shot. He said it would help with my energy and coping ability. I said "Sure, why not?" Well, after the shot, I did...
Next time you get a UTI from e-coli, the most common cause of UTIs, go to the health food store and get some D-Mannose to take. It is a sugar that clings to the e-coli bacteria in such a way that the bacteria can't cling to the urinary tract walls. You just flush the bacteria out of your system...
Does anyone know why there would be a shortage of Bragg's ACV? Or maybe it is available in your area. But in the two stores I am aware that sells it, it seems to sell out within a day of getting a shipment. Maybe the general public is catching on to its goodness.
On this subject, did I read on...
You have to go to the NRA website to see it, but it is well worth the time. I just wish the folks in charge would take the time to listen to it, and truly consider the points he makes, rather than take such a "Oh my God, it's a Gun!" attitude. I hope this post is not too political to have on...
I got the crazy idea of making some of the little grandkids "stick ponies" (hobby horses) for Christmas. I used the instructions I got off you-tube. It was pretty easy, but trying to make them sturdy enough for the rough housing I know they will go through was challenging. I finally got them...
I was just wondering if anyone has any good ideas to recycle old clothing and fabric. I have made rag rugs, used old shirts to make various other clothes, made doll clothes, cut them up for patchwork pillows and throws. I have seen people use old jeans to make purses. Of course, use in animal...
I found some silver jewelry at a sale up the street from me today. Bought 3 Italian .925 silver chains for 50 cents each. They weighed out at just over 1 1/2 ounces of silver. I could do that all day long!
I don't know if you get chocolate cravings like I do, but I get to feeling downright deprived when I get in the mood for a Snickers Bar and I won't let myself have it. Or Hershey's Kisses. So I have been experimenting with cocoa, stevia and coconut oil. I finally found the missing ingredient...
DH bought a large pack of ground beef today and accidentally left it in the car, under a thick towel for insulation. We found it after it had sat for about 6 hours. The temp on the surface was 64 degrees. Do you think it would be OK to cook and feed to the chickens and cats?
I know we had a kombucha thread going a couple of weeks ago, but I can't find it now. I think I have finally made the perfect batch of kombucha. Mine had been getting too vinegary as I waited for the sugar to be eaten up, but I sampled a batch I started on Aug 3rd, this evening and dang it is...
Well, not really a rant, but just a complaint about fiberfill stuffing. I have been making stuffed animals lately, and I really don't like the fiberfill stuffing that is sold now. It is slick, springy, doesn't hold well and takes way too much to stuff something plump. It wants to crawl out of...
Does anyone have any good craft ideas for using old tissue boxes? Preferably something that little kids can do? I don't know why I started saving them, but I have about 8 now. (Hoarder??) My 4 and 5 year old grand daughters love crafts, so I was just wondering. Maybe a diorama? We have made a...
Last year my tomato harvest was sad; I never had enough at one time to can, so I froze them, whole, smushed together to squeeze out the air bubbles in the freezer bags. Well, I never used a single one of them, I admit.:hide I didn't have a tomato press or food mill to make sauce, and I kept...
"HUSBAND TREATS" COOKIE BARS
My husband named these, so please don't take offense! We love these cookie bars; healthy enough to be a meal, but sweet enough to be a dessert/snack. Or a treat when your significant other pleases you----
Mix together in large bowl:
1/2 cup softened butter...
Has anyone else tried the Magic Mesh screen door? It is a mesh curtain with magnets in the middle to make it close itself after you go through. I bought one at a "Big-Mart" type store, and of course DH kinda made fun of me. (Yeah, I'm a sucker sometimes) But I finally convinced him to help me...
