canned meat for the first time EVER..first time to can anything...ground meat/ got aprox. one pint per pound...will definately do it again...taste wonderful...for a meal all I have to do is heat rice or potatoes + veggie or salad = meal...so many uses...fully cooked..

Receipe: Cormeal - add water to consistancy of pancake....cook on hot griddle edible as is ... they call them "hoe" cakes because the worker in the field would heat and cook these on the hoe for the meal ... I used a self rising cornmeal because it is what I had at the time . ate them plain...

Can my DP free range chickens eat raw rice as their main food with another mixture of milk/bran....they get the calcium from the milk but on the days no milk will make sure to have oyster shell available.....my question is -- since I have all this rice can I use it and not hurt the chickens...
