I have a very nice, fluffy mattress pad that I would like to hang out on the laundry line...just to freshen it up. Does anyone have a natural, homemade spray that would work for this purpose? I was thinking lemon juice/peel with water. What do you think or suggest? Thanks!
I just made this ricotta, for my homemade manacotti shells & sauce...It was so good and super-easy. I used grocery store-bought whole milk, raw yogurt and raw heavy cream to make it :drool

I borrowed my SIL's dehydrator to dehydrate some tomatoes. Not really sure why she bought a dehydrator, considering she doesn't even cook...but I digress AND I get to borrow it ;)

I just bought my 2nd, 25lb bag of bleached flour and spend $7-ish. Although the price is good...I really don't want to feed my family bleached flour. So, where do you buy your unbleached flour? TIA :D
And can I just say HOW GLAD am I, that we decided to raise our own meat chickens this year? I've just started getting into this whole meat bird thing and after seeing the conditions the store-bought chickens were raised in...I can just let out a sigh of relief. The grilled chicken we had for...

The other day I was driving with a few friends for a weekend "mommy-trip." On our trip there was an area of farmland that had numerous wind turbines. I was super-excited to see these, as they are fairly new and the amount and sheer size of them was breathtaking. A friend in the car chirped...
I received a permission slip from ds' school yesterday, stating they are having a farm to pizza field trip at our state's fairgrounds :thumbsup This made me very happy as I have been trying to teach my kids the importance of where our food comes from. Plus, I get to go!! Ya hoo! So excited :D

I finally broke down and bought some Fels Naptha Soap from Soapsgonebuy.com :clap
Now, I'm not sure if I should go the liquid or dry route :hu It seems like the dry would be easier to store, but I am used to liquid.
What about you guys? What do you prefer? TIA :D
My dh's place of work had a chili and dessert contest. The prize for each contest was $50 in a Cheesecake Factory giftcard. They were having a big party for the Superbowl (Go Colts!) and were gracious enough to have this fun contest. Anywho, I won the dessert contest :ya
Not a real SS topic...
My dh bought and put up a metal, made in China, clothesline last summer. It was great, at first, but the first time I filled it on all sides, it broke. I know we are all :ep that a chinese product was a piece of poo.
Anywho, he has promised me a clothesline made by hand. But, I would love...
I have a kinda-friend whom I was talking to the other day and mentioned I had made a loaf of bread (from my breadmaker) & soup for ds' school pitch-in. To which she responded, "Ugh, I have one I haven't used in over a year, they're just too much work." I asked her how and she didn't really...
I grew up with a dark, long table with benches growing up. I loved this table, and my parents gave it to my dh & I when I was 19. They then gave me their other dining room table, and due to space issues I gave the table away to dh's best-friend.
He re-finished it a light color and every so...
